Shutter Garden Angels

Here are my beautiful recycled shutter angels

 that I just made.  

I made them to sell at my garden club's 

plant sale to fund the scholarship

for a horticulture student at

our local Junior College.

Serged Waistband Seam: Reducing the Bulk

This is a quick and easy way to reduce bulk

 in the waistband or armband 

with cotton knit.

 Serge your seam as normal.

Next, find the middle of your band and clip inward at that point.

Press so each seam goes in an opposite direction as shown in the photograph above.

Fold the waistband in half wrong side to wrong side and sew on like you always do.  

You'll like the feel of the reduced bulk.
